Occupational therapy is a service focused on keeping
individuals independent and productive if they are affected by illness,
injury or the normal ageing process.
A few examples of areas addressed by Occupational therapy include:
Custom splinting - rheumatoid arthritic and OA hands, carpal tunnel
syndrome, contractures, upper extremity injuries
Home assessment - evaluation of a persons activities for daily
living in their home and recommendations for aids or adaptations
where needed.
Work place assessment - ergonomic evaluation from office to industrial
situations and recommendations for modifications of tools, work
surfaces, body position, and energy conservation.
